We’re a startup book publisher founded by two industry pros with more than forty years of combined experience.

We publish books that spark bravery, inspire authenticity, and revel in small joys—not because we’re always brave, authentic, or joyful, but because we aspire to be. These kinds of stories inspire and encourage us, and we hope they’ll do the same for you.

You can expect from us a range of books, including personal stories (creative nonfiction) and children’s picture books. We’re especially drawn to stories rooted in the Midwest and Great Lakes region.

Our authors care about loving others, showing kindness, rejecting cynicism, respecting the earth, and advocating for positive change in our communities.

Leaning in to the “revel in small joys” part of our mission, occasionally you’ll see a wacky idea from us like our first book, the Women Reading with Cats Coloring Book.

Our first real book was Amy Peterson’s memoir Dangerous Territory, which is one of Miranda’s favorite books.

Heather publishes some of her books through Bracket and some through the big New York publishers. (She has too many ideas for one publisher, so they can have some of them. We can share.)

Starting in 2026, we’ll publish two books a year.
